Does anyone know if there is a speed sensor in the loco with RS 2.5? I tarted it up today and the chuff is gone, any help?

Most likely a bad cherry switch. It is activated by the smoke lever. Fairly simple replacement.
I’m pretty sure the 777 has a micro switch in the engine frame. Look for a broken wire.
No speed sensor, just a mechanical switch that works with the lever than moves the smoke piston. You will find it just behind the smoke unit. The switches can go out of adjustment. If you had it apart you may not have assembled the linkage correctly.

Thanks guys!!
6-18044 shows another engine.
Must intend the NYC Vandy #6-18045...... Yes, check the cherry switch for correct operation of chuff on this loco.
