Hello, does anyone have this model? I'm considering purchasing it but want to gather some other people's opinion on it. Also, does it have Railsounds 5? http://www.lionel.com/products...omotive-664-6-38402/

I have this model, it's actually a pretty good one, much better than the set HHP-8. This one comes with the larger motors, cruise control, and RailSounds 5.
The big issue I had is that it's a bit too light, so I had to address that issue. After that "shot", it runs great, and now it has no problem pulling the ten 18" cars. Without the added weight, it really struggled. Plenty of motor power, just not enough weight for a 2% grade.

Nice! Think you could shoot a quick video of it in action? I'm curious to hear it. Specifically the horn bell and crew talk.
It's currently resting at the club, so I can't shoot one right now.
Alright.
Can someone find me a online copy of instructions for the engine, I can't find them on Lionel's site.
What are you looking for in the manual? There's not much about it that's a mystery, it's a pretty generic TMCC locomotive as far as operation.
The document number is 73-8402-250 published in 10/10, but I don't find it on the Lionel site either.
This has the back-EMF cruise module (ERR Cruise Commander M), so you can turn cruise on/off and change the speed steps between 32 and 100, check the ERR CC-M documentation. The type code for this engine is AUX1-5 during the ID setup.
Nothing specific although I'd like to know how to replace the traction tires on it. Is it as tricky as the Aclea?
Nothing to replacing the traction tires, it's like any other diesel. While you can snake them in on the locomotive, it's much easier to drop the truck and replace them. The trucks looks just like the set HHP-8 locomotive, so use those instructions: http://www.lionel.com/products...c-loco-656f-6-31779/
Thanks! I'd love to hear this engine before I buy it though. Anyone you know have this engine?
