Brief article about Llonel at the 2014 Toy Fair in NYC.

This is the first time in quite a few years that Lionel will actually have a booth in the main hall. The past few years they've only had a small meeting room away from the halls.
Looks like they might bring back a version of the Crayola train that dates back to the eighties, I believe. That was a nice set and a great starter set for small fry. And just why are they called "small fry"?
They have a number of licensed sets to show. I had the pleasure of seeing the 2014 line up recently and their are some nice sets being offered to attract kids into the hobby.

That new (to me) Lionel website referred to in the article is pretty cool. Click on the link.

Thanks Allan. Nice to read about all the new things Lionel is doing to bring new folks into the hobby.
Not much to report from Toy Fair today. Lionel's booth mainly had mass merchant type items on display (Holiday items, G scale sets, some Nascar items etc). No new train catalogs yet.
One of the few new items I did notice was a O gauge Frosty the Snowman RTR 0-8-0 set and some Baseball theme boxcars. Guess we'll just have to wait for the new catalogs.
