You could, but keep the voltage as low as possible. The little vibrator will last much longer as will the bulb.

Yes.  Wire the 2 terminals directly to your accessory channel of the transformer and adjust to get the effect you desire.  

you actually you want the voltage as low as possible, so you don't burn it up it's a small coil and will overheat easily! I would adjust the voltage starting very low and increase gradually until it swings slowly but not jerky!

I'm just reinstalling my post war Banjo  with a new vibrator driver washer.  I've settled on 10 VAC which is a 200 ma draw.

I'm using the Banjo to draw my attention to switch position.  I'm installing an on/off push button switch to shut it off to prevent overheating when the switch remains thrown.
