Hi, I have a scale Lionel Blue Comet 4-6-2 that is numbered as #831. I can not seem to find anything out about this locomotive. I see road numbers #833 and #835 but not #831. Does anybody know the year that this engine was produced and what features where offered?

The catalog number for the locomotive is 6-38003. It is part of the Blue Comet set, 6-21787. It was in the 2001 and 2002 catalogs and I believe produced both years.
Features are TMCC, RailSounds 4.0, Odyssey, Fan driven smoke, electro coupler, and a full complement of lights. This is by no means all inclusive, but lists the major features.

The Jersey Central had five class G3 Pacifics. Three, 831, 832 and 833, were painted for the Blue Comet. The 843 was painted green. The 835 was black.
