My Lionel D&H RS-11 #5001 with TMCC/Odyssey will only run for a few feet before stalling out. I activated the tmcc functions since my layout is now a DCS and a TMCC friendly layout. However, the engine will not run minus crawling for a few feet before stalling to basically neutral on either DCS or TMCC remote functions despite already being programmed and registered as how it should be. Has anyone come across this issue and know of a remedy for it? I now can’t run it in conventional on my conventional running loop either sadly.

Sounds like Tmcc board has issues ! May need a new one. Check with others on on this forum !
I suspect you'll need to check out the R2LC and DCDS, it sounds like one or the other has a problem.

Sorry for such a late reply! But can you explain this more please?? It would help me narrow down what I am looking for when I get the chance to pop it open.

Have you had this issue on any of your Lionel engines in the past?
Here's the parts breakdown for that unit: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...7D9-BAFFF2FF3525856E
First step is to reprogram the engine, page 15 of the User's Manual: RS-11 Diesel Locomotive - 8/01
If that doesn't help, item #25 and then #19 are my top suspects for this symptom. I'd first check all the connections and wiring to see if anything looks amiss or chaffed. Next, reseat any connectors and the board #25. If neither of those measures work, I'd swap out the R2LC with another engine, reprogram and see if that changes it.
