PFE VL 3-PK 6-81142 (2014) but don't know if it had an EOT device?

Doubt it as those are the old 40's/50's style reefers.
Did you call up this item number on Lionel's website and check out the list of features? The MSRP is $300 and at that price I wouldn't think it's just a re-issue of 'old 40s/50s style reefers'. There must be some special features. Just sayin...
Here’s the short answer, ‘no’!
I have both of the VL PFE Reefer sets, and I agree with Jim, neither had an EOT device. As stated, they're modeling the 50's design 40' reefer, the EOT wasn't around in those days, we still had a caboose.
The VL Ethanol Tank Cars, OTOH, do have an EOT device on one of the cars as they're modeling much more modern rolling stock.
So GRJ - has Lionel made two (2) different VL 'reefer' sets as your Post implies? If so, other than the 2014 set number I mentioned above, do you know the other reefer set number? Thanks.
Vision reefers as stated before are modeling the style in the 40’s and 50’s so would be incorrect to have a EOD.
2014 VL Reefers 6-81142
2016 VL Reefers 6-83545
Thanks Zachariah
What he said, I have both sets. The first set came out with the VL-BB, a couple years later the re-released it.
