I don't think Lionel has ever said what the production numbers have been on freight cars, passenger cars etc.....Paul
Do you mean a list of all the Std O husky stacks ? Like attached ?
I think this should be in scale forum. Im talking about the scale husky stacks with the 48' foot containers like the one above.
ED H - I cant open that file for some reason.
Im trying to make sure I have all the Burlington Northern road numbers that Lionel has produced. A list would be awesome.
As a long time 2 railer I believe these are the best to scale freight cars Lionel has ever produced, despite having to shorten their container length to accommodate typical 3 rail radii [1/2"] and corresponding side lettering , as is typical of the 3 rail Mfgs not all road names are accurate for these particular cars, the cars are very well done exceeding the current Atlas Maxi stacks in most areas. The ACF centerflows were also quite nice. In recent years Lionel has not done cars this good. I think this diecasting process is getting too expensive for the production today.JMO See examples with correct containers, 20', 40' and 45'.

These Lionel cars are excellent. (Not sure why they were made short, clearly not a car for O27!)

Yes I agree the detail is astounding. Definitely a great buy if you can find them nib.
Back in 2007-8 they were all over I was buying 2 packs for 90-100 from dealers happy to move them, I suspect Lionel made substantial runs back then, last retail pricing started to get up there and they have not been offered since.

The cars themselves are accurate length to prototype, slightly wider but interior bulkheads were moved in to allow truck swing with cookie cutter wheel sets for 0-31 curves, requiring containers also well detailed to be 1/2" short [2 scale ft] compare to MTH 48' containers which will not fit in wells. This subject has had considerable discussion in previous postings. Just saying!
Yes, thank you very much Ed for providing the list.
These are some of my favorite freight cars.
Donald
Looks like CSX has the most with 11 different road numbers.
