I just received this loco today from Grzboski. It is a great looking loco!! Well, that was it, no sound right out of the box. I called them and I spoke with Joe and he said send it back. Fine, sent it back..Then I was going to prime the smoke units, well I cant get the sand dome off to fill it. how do I do this. It almost come off but feels like something is holding it on. Any help would be great..

One of the pipe details hangs up the dome. Its a bit of a pain. Pull the dome up and you have to rotate/wiggle it off.
Get your finger nails under it at wiggle it back and forth. The rubber o ring sticks when its new because its dry.
The manual recommends lubing the o ring with smoke fluid, I actually used a little labelle 102. It comes off easier every time.
Is this the new one or one you are sending back? I wouldn't put fluid in it if you are sending it back.
You need really good, stiff fingers and good nails to pry those things off - no butterfingers from eating popcorn or chips
Im sorry I should have been more clear. Joe said to just send the tender back and keep the loco..So I sent the tender and the loco is on the layout. I hope this is not going to be the project I have a feeling it is going to become.
