Lionel 6-17377 - two cars. Three cars?

I not a collector/appreciator of LCCA Convention cars that were merely overstamped "regular cars." However, LCCA convention cars that were unique - and sometimes whimsical - captured my attention.  The late Lou Caponi created several winners:  the Mrs. O'Leary car (made for the Chicago Convention)  was my favorite.

This kind of thing has happened before.  If it happens because of overstamping it's at least understandable.

But when two cars have the same stock number, and both are made by Lionel and not in any way related to each other, it's a real headache.

6-27412 is both a GATX Tank Train Intermediate Car and a Conrail 3-Bay Coal Hopper at the same time.

Greenberg's Lionel Trains Pocket Price Guide, 2021 Edition only lists the GATX Tank Train car but the other one definitely exists.

I received an Internet message off list mentioning a third car, twenty to twenty-five. The Santa Fe cross and circle is yellow and black.  Have you seen one?  John

Yes there was one with that decal. I believe for the officers of the club.

I have a photo of the car that Sal Gambino mentioned, and yes the Santa Fe logo is black and yellow rather than black and white. Search "lionel 17377 lcca officer" on Worthpoint and there is a photo of the yellow logo car.

Likely the officers/members of the division that hosted the event. Not unusual for there to be a very limited version either for the host club or a table car offered at the convention dinner.
