Two boxes as they came from the Lionel factory.  Both held 6-17377 American Railway Express milk car.  Removable roof, two interior tanks and underfloor piping.

One hundred and fifty were sent to Weaver and in the orange area of the flap was placed a tag indicating the car was decorated by Weaver for LCCA. Cars were a second car at the Denver 2006 Convention.

To each side, Weaver added the black and white Santa Fe cross and square and the black placard to the left of the door.  WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO LCCA SANTA FE YARD.

Car without the over stamps.

Both cars use the same Lionel number and some sellers on auction sites do not differentiate between the cars when setting an asking price.    John

This kind of thing has happened before.  If it happens because of overstamping it's at least understandable.

But when two cars have the same stock number, and both are made by Lionel and not in any way related to each other, it's a real headache.

6-27412 is both a GATX Tank Train Intermediate Car and a Conrail 3-Bay Coal Hopper at the same time.

Greenberg's Lionel Trains Pocket Price Guide, 2021 Edition only lists the GATX Tank Train car but the other one definitely exists.
