Maybe it is just my luck, but as of late (last 6 months or so), about every other replacement  common electronic reverse unit, either 600- 0103-001 or 610-0107-100 is bad. Got these right from Lionel. The bad ones operate erratically, like say from forward to reverse, skipping neutral, or forward, forward, reverse, or forward, reverse, forward, reverse, neutral, reverse.  Because of their inexpensive cost I just throw away the bad ones, but this is getting to be expensive now. I haven't said anything to Lionel about this yet, being the cost of returning them would be just as expensive, considering time to pack and postage, but maybe I should now being this is getting more and more common. My question is anyone else who is repairing trains have the same defective rate on theirs? Wonder if Lionel recently started sub contracting these to someone else?

Chuck,

I've had more bad parts in the last year but non of the low end E-Units you mentioned.  I've had TMCC Crane, Lionchief, Radio boards not work this year.  Of course when you contact Lionel you pay to ship it back, and then they warn they will charge a $25 test fee if they think the board is good.  I've only had 1 they say tested good but they replaced it anyway.

Jim
