Shortly after WW2 in the early 'Post War' period Lionel introduced 2 premium passenger sets based on their new 'Madison' cars pulled by the PRR GG1 and the 1950 773 semi scale Hudson. The cars had 'Lionel Lines' over the windows and were named Madison. Irvington, and Manhattan. Later in the late 1900's Lionel (LTI era) produced a 'Sager Place' observation for them.  Later K -Line offered a set of 72' heavyweights in NYC with the classic names used by Lionel.

Here we have a couple of scale reproductions of these handsome and classic sets with the Lionel JLC GG1 and the K-Line scale Hudson numbered 5344 as used by Joshua Cowan for his classic 700E prewar scale model.

I ran them both today at friend Bob's layout. Hadn't run the GG1 in many years and she performed beautifully - smooth and solid.
