Could probably look this up somewhere, but thought I'd come here for an easy one.
I just bought my first LC Plus 2.0 locomotive, and I know I can run with it my Cab-1 remote, but am thinking about buying a simpler Lionchief Universal remote (instead of an extra Cab-1) for guests.
Question - will a universal remote also run my sole LC Plus and sole LC (Thomas) locomotives as well?

As long as the remote firmware is at 1.1 then you should be ok. If not it can be update using an App from Lionel.

You have to find the app now if you have an Android based phone, it disappeared from the Play Store.
I read up on updating the firmware. Looks like I'd have to borrow an iPhone since I have an Android or send away to Lionel Customer Service. Appears that a red sticker on the back indicates that it's already been upgraded to 1.1.

How old is it? Chances are it's already current if new.

Don't know.....yet.
Sounds like one at 1.1 would, indeed, enable me to run my new LC+2 and older LC+ and LC locomotives.....assuming that's accurate, I'm going to set my sites on buying one already at 1.1 so I don't have to bother with updating myself. We're an Android house, so updating myself wouldn't be worth the headaches.
