I own a Lionel 6-19897 Crane Car with TMCC. After 10 years of mostly sitting on display, the boom cables have become inflexible: sort of molded into shapes they have assumed in their position in the crane rigging. They will flex but will no longer run smoothly through the various pulleys within the cable run. Lionel does sell a replacement cable but installation would require tweezing the new cable around all of the pulleys while maintaining strain on it to keep it from jumping out of its route. I thought maybe I could tie onto the old cable and pull the new one into place? Other crane owners must have this problem... what do they do? Does Lionel offer a repair with new cable installed? Any comments would be appreciated.
