I've been considering one of these for awhile.  I like the size and detail and the fact that they are TMCC controlled.  Great for my small switching layout. My fear is the fact that the rollers are only 3" apart.  This leads me to think that they don't navigate switches or a combination of switches well. For those of you that have one, how well do they handle passing over switches and switching chores ?

I have more issues from crappy common rail contact on antiderail turnout's curves when there are traction tires than roller gap issues.  Mine vary from about 2¼, 2¾, 3, 3¼". None have to "rammed" to pass thru unless the track ,or rollers or wheels are dirty or I'm too near stall and the anti-derail triggering stalls me.

Two things I do which gives me good reliability with the curved switch is:

1. I tweek the pick up rollers so they are close to being perpendicular to the top of the rail. I’ve found them to be twisted one way or another out of the box.

2. I installed a 2” piece of rail on top of the ties centered between where the center rails split as in the picture below. This helps keep the rollers from dropping in and snagging which derails the locomotive every time!92E11062-AD40-4430-99A6-AA376DE7A6E6
