Has Lionel produced a caboose in Lionscale? I notice a whole train for about $1,100 that has a caboose, but I don't see one as an individual purchase.

I don't believe so... The LionScale models are the from the old Weaver plastic model tooling. IIRC the only plastic caboose Weaver made was the "Northeastern" type and it has not been offered by Lionel.
Weaver also did at least one brass caboose I can recall, the Milwaukee rib-sided bay window caboose in two styles. I regret not getting one, they are very hard to find and expensive now.

I just noticed on Lionelstore that they are offering a Lionscale caboose in 2019. It is Visionline grey and red for a Challenger engine. Looks pretty cool. I went to pre-order it and they want $49 bucks to ship a $99 car. Yikes

Lionel did introduce a new scale N5b caboose (not Lionscale/Weaver) with their Pennsy M1a Coal Hauler set 2 or 3 years ago. They are also sold separately. They are very nicely done. See Eric's Trains review And OGR forum thread on the set.
