Oops! THAT beauty we DON'T turn into a Led Sled. I should have looked more closely! Don't want to get you OR Doc Hudson mad at me!
@Bill Swatos posted:Very nice! Couldn't we use CNG or LNG or even hydrogen to bring these babies back to the rails? At least for excursions, anyway...
Thanks Bill!
The N&W J class 611 is already back running on the rails. I think it's still at Strassburg? At any rate the 611 has been fully restored to running condition. I've seen her in action several times and even got a tour of the cab by the chief mechanical officer while she was having an annual inspection at the Strassburg shop.
That is flat out Cool! Great imagination...

For those who paint their own figures, what type and brand of paint do you use?? I'm considering giving the process a try again
Hobby Lobby acrylics. Inexpensive, hundreds of colors, water clean up. JohnA
I typically use Vallejo acrylics, but have been known to use the better craft store acrylics on occasion. Washes are ink based, or simply heavily-diluted acrylics with a drop or two of matt medium added.
Here's a recently repainted Arttista "running man":
This guy turns up on a lot of layouts. Initially I tried a semi-gloss tinplate-style paint job, but that turned out lousy. Stripped him and repainted more in line with a scale look. Turned out decent, although his trousers are a mess

I found a Vallejo set for painting figures that includes various skin tones and basic colors for clothing.
A few Plasticville for the Christmas display:
Straight block-paint/dip/highlight/clear-matte-overspray process without much in the way of mold clean-up (figure these will get manhandled by visitors). Globbed a bit of glitter-snow on the bases. Otherwise, all acrylics here, Vallejo, Tamiya, and some high-end craft paint.
That cat looks terrible.

Milk Delivery from Elmwood Farm. My dad worked for that farm before his Navy service in WWII. Truck custom painted by me based on pics of actual trucks they had.
Climbing aboard the Farmall Super MTA to head out for some Fall plowing.

A few things to analyze in this pic indeed...Great likeness of the Queen Mum, the fellow in the "mac" behind the barrel looks to be a "double O" agent assigned to the her protection! Wonder if he takes his martini's shaken and not shtirred... The green haired lady is certainly a character, the flowers in the barrel are nicer than over flowing trash, and that pay phone sets the time period - wonder if it has gum stuck to the ear piece too.?

Now waita minute Arnold. That last picture looks like you now have a layout in your home law office, instead of your basement!
Are you still tax deducting that office space as a business expense?
Risky business! :-)

Arnold, is that before or after the game at Yankee Stadium?
