The latest dumb idea from our brain-damaged mayor is to electrically lock turnstiles when the platforms become crowded, a practice adopted in london. Argh!!!

So when a train arrives and passengers start to board, do the turnstiles unlock ? If and when they do, will it give enough time to board the train ?
This sounds familiar...They must have watched this documentary:
The relevant portion being from 2:00 to 3:23...Can you guess why this won't work here?

Interesting Japanese movie Thanks. The turnstile lock idea came from the same panel of nincompoops that wants to end 24/7 service. They also want to install the Japanese style doors that will be on the platform so you can't fall on the tracks - as shown in the japanese subway -which will be a billion dollar installation and maintainance problem - the perfect solution to which no known problem exists.
