The majority of Pullman heavyweight passenger cars rode on standard 2410 6 wheel trucks, and consequently that design has been offered by a number of O scale manufacturers.  However a reasonable number of heavyweight Pullmans were equipped with Pullman 242 trucks.  They are distinguished by not having drop equalizer bars between the truck journals.   The P-Company's O scale brass model of PRR's Queen Mary came with 242 trucks - but they were not offered for separate sale.

The next heavyweight Pullman I'd like model is PRR's Keystone Banks.  To do it right I'll need a pair of 242 trucks.    Does anyone know a source for them in O scale?

I ended up making my Pullman 242 trucks from two other top equalized truck makes that lacking the outboard side bearing bracket. One was a pair of Walthers trucks, the other a pair of Lobaugh trucks.  Both have been long out of production, but Scale City Designs may have the former Walthers top equalized 6 wheel trucks.

To do that I made styrene masters of the outboard bearing brackets for each type truck, as their spring centers differ. They were cast in resin after making molds .

Here is a Golden Gate Depot B&O 12/1 Pullman I re-equipped with a pair of Lobaugh trucks modified to look like the 242 type, which the prototype "Saint" series Pullmans had.
