Coming to O Scale, available to order starting Monday... These awesome products will be available for your O Scale models!   They add a bit of realism to your O scale railroad operations!  Check out MAC Rail's announcement

While they don't light up, they do add a nice bit of realism to your operation.. They can easily be added and removed from the your trains during operations.     They have many other products in HO that if we want made in O certainly provide that feedback!

Well those flags and utility rack are also interesting.

A shame they don't have an option to light them, that would be a nice enhancement.

It's a different market.  The idea is to be able to place the EOT on your train during an ops session and remove it when complete.   As trains don't always have the same trailing(last) car.  I know many will add an LED and make it more of a permanent device on a single car, similar to the MTH version in O Scale.  In the ideal world we would have the portability and the ability to light the device in a self contained unit in O Scale.  I know some folks doing that in 1/29th and larger.

Is it me, or do the O scale EOTs look oversized????    Seems to me that the HO ones are more to scale for O than the O scale ones.   Not trying to nitpick, just making an observation.....    To be honest, I've never really measured a real EOT,   The O scale models look to me to be about 30% oversized.   Maybe it's just me....

Richard,  While that might be true... the MAC Rail product is about 2/3 the size of the MTH product, while it does not light up it's closer to scale and is removeable.  This adds  a lot of operational interest, IMO...   Ortner car is the MAC rail product, while the trinity 5161 has an MTH EOT I  installed maybe 10 years ago.

Also a quick photo of the flag

I get what you are saying Mike, but in todays world of technology, I just do not understand why a true to scale, removable EOT cannot be produced???   If you want a lit EOT, I remember seeing one at Trainfest sold by Richmond Controls.   Downside was, you needed to solder it to the trip pin.  To make it removable (and a dummy) there would be a bit of modelers engineering needed1    To your comments about the MTH one, well there was nothing from MTH that I ever considered true scale!!!

Richard, I get your point.  However, consider the height of these above the coupler is about 2 scale feet.  Which isn't bad and super close to actual height, the width and depth is where I feel these are a little oversized.  It would seem like the width and depth are right around 1 scale foot vs maybe 6-9 inches?  Though I don't mind because it makes it easier for operators to install and remove the device.   I think a fixed device might lend itself to a further reduced size, such as what Ring has done in HO scale.  Overall, I am super happy with these products.
