I thonk this new forum is great. It is a outlet for all gauges. As I have a lot of O & S , having read some of the replies on this forum, I Unpacked my Marklin HO and am in the process of building a small layout. All my Marklin is from the 60,S & 70!S are like new. I purchased these new when Marklin HO was in vogue. Back in the late 1990!s, I worked for FAO Swartz in NYC and after Christmas, they gave employees a Hugh discount on everything and of course, I purchased Marklin & Fleishman trains. Are there any other forum members into Marklin or other foreign HO.
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I have Marklin and other, mostly 3 rail AC foreign trains. The ETE is a helpful group.
I have just one set, with a tank engine, that my wife picked up at a yard sale for me. I test-ran it, it ran very nicely, but I haven't done anything with it since. Nice little set, though.
I've got a fairly complete collection of late 50's to early 70's Marklin and Fleischmann HO.Most of this was bought by my father back in the day on business trips. I also have some Marklin 1 gauge.
I have current production Marklin, as well as Marklin compatible from Brawa, Fleishmann, and Roco. All are digital, and some have sound (I don't bother with smoke). Most are steam, one diesel, and three electrics.

I have a Marklin HO Digital layout. Love my Marklin!

I have purchased a variety of brand new Trix, Fleischmann, MTH, and Lilliput 2-rail HO train equipment over the past few years. I also bought some Marklin freight cars, intending to ship them to Walthers for a free 3-rail-to-2-rail wheelset exchange. However, it's become quite obvious I'll never use the latter stuff because my planned layout will be much smaller than originally envisioned. If anyone is in the market for mint condition Marklin American roadname box, refrigerator, tank, and hopper cars, please contact me at bobg100@msn.com.
I have a lot of Marklin HO (Digital and otherwise), purchased in the 1990s, that is currently packed in boxes waiting for me to find some space to use at least some of it. Just don't have the heart to sell it because it really is a beautifully made product.
Can I use a regular American ho transformer to run Marklin AC or do I have to use a Marklin transformer
Marklin uses AC. An American HO transformer is DC. They should run, but slower, and won't reverse. Marklin uses 16VAC. They reverse with a pulse the Marklin transformer produces. Get a Marklin transformer.
I have some Marklin. My father was a big collector but he sold it all before he passed away. I also have a small FAO Swartz display layout. I believe it was made by Noch. Neat stuff. I always visit Europen Train Enthusiasts layout at the Greenberg show in the Shriners Auditorium, Reading, Mass, great looking Marklin layout.
