Spent the day with Marty, Dottie, Erol (Loco Lawyer)Gurcan, Chris Lenaro & Wally. Ran the GG-1 on the catenary. Also Marty showed us the Weaver New Haven I-5 that he converted to DCS PS-3. Ralph really liked the GG-1 on the wire.

Always a great time at Marty's!!!!
Alex
Love it !!
Is the pentograph actually touching the catenary?
Marty, please tell Mike Wolf to produce an I 5. Preferably in RK Imperial.
Man - The centenary certainly adds greatly to the light effects. Very nice you guys!

Yes. Both are beautiful engines.
Thanks guys. The pan was riding the wire perfectly but not powered from it. The engine was owned by John and not me. The spacing on the LED flasher looked excellent. Timing was perfect. This is one great running locomotive.
The I-5 is a PS-3 upgrade. I have haunted Mike for years to make it.
Marty
Marty, your layout is awesome. I love the hard core toy train layout, trains are supposed to be run
Matt, they get run every day.
I'm jealous, I love the room rumble of running trains

Absotively! I could watch that all day long. Thanks John and Marty for sharing!
Spectacular!
Happy New Year, everyone!
Peter
happy news year and best layout I have ever see with terrific detail and expertise, really put a lot of thought and time making everything work perfectly and precise. best complements Marty, hope you can teach me to make a layout half as nice as yours and I would be pleased!
Alan
Looking great and a lot of fun. Wish I had been there. Happy New Year to all.
Gerry
Thanks that looks like a cool way to run the GG1.
Nice video John. Thanks for sharing! Happy New year to all.
Super videos. Thanks for sharing.
Looks perfect! Love the G under the cat!
The MTH engine looks and sounds beautiful too!

That GG-1 LED "sparking" looks much better here on Marty's layout than in the demo, and the I-5 running is a treat as well. Love the "Script" tender.
Marty, I can't figure why MTH never made one either. Keep haunting Mike. One of these parked next to the ATSF 3460 would be spectacular even if un prototypical!
You're not making it any easier for those of us who haven't received theirs yet....
Seriously, the sparking pantograph under catenary in that video will convince more of us to install catenary....even if it isn't powered. Although I've conditioned myself to accept running without overhead wire, this illustrates how essential it is to realism.

I think I dimmed my lights in my layout I get the affect close to it without installing wires. I really like the rivit one.
These are WOW Videos!! Marty, thanks for the show and one day, sooner than you think, I want to see your Awesome Layout in Person....I really like the New VL GG1...Happy New Year
Marty that GG1 looks right at home as well as the I 5. Great stuff!!
Marty, I like that NAVY Water tower, also caught the energizer bunny on the sidewalk! G
Looks great running on Marty's layout. I am glad to see I am not the only person that has a cat residing on his layout.
I really need to unpack my Contrail version of the GG1, and get it on the rails.
Very nice. Thank you, Captain John and Marty.
I always want to compliment Marty when I see pictures of his layout. I really love the control panel too. He built a state of the art layout and it remains relevant.
Now I am torn as I prefer dog over cats. If Marty likes cats then they're OK with me.
Wasn't so sure after seeing the original Lionel demo, but that arcing feature looks great under an actual "wire".
Thanks for sharing.
Looks wonderful under the wires!
Having watched GG-1 locomotives every day when living in Pennsylvania as a kid, I rate the flashing LED timing as perfect.
Flat out wonderful!
Paul
Those are great clips! Thanks for sharing!

awesome under the wires with the arcing---i wish someone would make a non operating overhead wiring system--not to be a rivet counter but the tuscan 5 stripe-- the black roof--is that prototypical?
