There is a nice article and some photos of the McKeen Car that ran on the Bellingham Bay and British Columbia Railway. Sure would be nice if MTH ever released this car that showed in a past Catalogue.

Also the latest news from the Canadian Toy Train association including limited edition special run cars.

The June flyer is up online at: http://www.canadiantoytrains.org

go to the Newsletter section, and in the box, select 2013, and then, inside that, select 2014 --- then click the June 14 online, . at the top right click the 3 dots then click download and open the download.
New web site coming soon so will be easier to open.
Can see the previous newsletters as well.

Those who didn't get the prompt, probably don't have their browsers set to reject third-party cookies. That means that any third-party ad that appears on a web page can set a tracking cookie. I don't like the amount of tracking that goes on with the cookies I have to accept (i.e. the ones that come from the actual websites), but there's not much I can do about that because you have to accept cookies to use eBay, Amazon, etc. But by rejecting third-party cookies, at least I don't get tracking cookies from every sleazeball  who runs a Web ad.

I was able to open the site without any prompts and eventually I found the newsletter.

I have frequently expressed the same regrets over the lack of a model of the Mckeen motor car and trailer in any scale, O scale, or tinplate. I had the MTH model on order. I've enclosed some pictures of the beautifully restored Virginia & Truckee Mckeen which I had the pleasure of riding.

The club hopes the website will get updated soon and will be easy to see the flyers, hard to find a volunteer to figure out how to upgrade and fix the webiste.

Anyways the point of the post was for the rail car the McKeen car looks great.

There are many that would like one.

I think the issue with MTH catalogue product announcements of new items is they might show only a few perhaps 4 different road names.

If they have to run a new mold for a new design like this I would think that it would be in their best interest to put out in  a news letter that they want to make the car and get some input from customers on what road names they would like.

Then they could perhaps put a announcement in a catalogue with potential road names if enough orders to do a paint scheme then they could run it.

I am sure many fantasy paint schemes would sell as well. Also a painted but undecorated model could have much appeal.

I am sure if they were to take this approach they would get the orders they need to cast the model.

I thought I had seen in the past at a  NMRA show an MTH booth with a mock up model.

They did a great job of that rebuild got a look at it running in a past July 4 event.

Sure looks sharp in real life.
