All I can say is WOW !! what a car this is.. It does come with 4 extra pins for the container too. I'll put it on the layout later to see how it works with the L brand intermodal crane and post more pictures. This car is heavy duty and looks fantastic with the graphics. Another home run from our friends at Menards..

Bob, good pics. Do you do weddings too LOL. That was a good pic of the inside of the well car. Does it have an added weight inside. I still haven't found my right of way well cars to compare but if memory serves me I think they came with a weight for the bottom to make them heavier. Thanks Paul

Paul : There is no weight in the car itself, but the containers are heavy to make up for it. and NO..I don't do weddings..LOL..
Hey guys I think its a great looking car! Also after watching the news this morning I am glad to see you here, sounds like some nasty weather back there!
Looks fantastic, but how are we going to move all these containers from the intermodal yard to their final destinations?
Hey Mark the Menards Train Guy, we need some tractors and intermodal trailers!
Hey Bob is it really 17 1/2 inches long? (the car)
would like to know, and im thinking about getting these to go with my Railking cars

Great picture and nice video there Bob, one question where did you get the flatcars with the BNSF Trailers? I need some! LOL

Mike: They are from last years LCCA convention in Kansas City.. With any luck, you may find some in the LCCA store in Tacoma !!
Looks great. However, your crane operator needs some more time as an apprentice!! .
Very nice pics and video. Thanks!!! You can never have enough well cars and containers and these will help a lot of folks grow their fleets.
I'm really impressed with the containers, they look great.

Cool, Don't forget to save time for the Space Needle!
They look good....thanks Sir!
They look just about like my scratchbuilt cars so they will look great together!!!
Bob, I know the Lionel well cars came with a special bottom container to allow the crane hooks to slide in underneath the top container and allow the crane to top lift the bottom container. How did the hooks make under the Menard's top container? I don't believe there is any way to unload the bottom container.
Joe: You are correct on both. If you want to use the crane, the load would need to be lifted off the other container and a shim placed under the container so the hook could grab it. There is no way to unload the bottom container with the crane that I know of, or can see.. Bob
Not really into the scale double stacks.
How do you think these would look with MTH Railking husky stacks or Lionel 027 Maxi-stacks?
Thanks, Fred
Hey Bob, I know its not realistic but wouldn't the graplers catch on the upper lip of the bottom container enough to lift it out?
Thanks Bob. I have a couple of sets of the Lionel CN Maxi Stax, a couple of K-line double stacks and I believe two RailKing. These Menard's cars look good and have different construction details. I'll have to pull out the K-line and Railkings to see how the 17-1/2" length of Menards goes with those. may just have to buy acouple anyway.

I really don't think so. there isn't much of a lip there . If you enlarge my pictures from above, you can see that there is no lip on top, and naturally, they are not in front of me to look real close
Looks good - the chrome brake wheel and the other chrome thing look a little goofy.

Not my color pick....but I can fix it in 10 minutes if it bugs me.....
Bob just found this and I am glad to know these work with the crane as I have one. Anyone know are these cars readily avalible most of the time from menards or were they run in a low quantity batch first time around?
Not really a big deal but friction bearing trucks on an intermodal car?
