Jeff,  -  It depends on which Menard's Flat Cars you are talking about, the newer Flat Cars with wood type beds and loads like the Copter and Deuce and a 1/2 with pull along tanker, are long Flat Cars with nice loads, the older Flat Cars with Tank Load, are definitely smaller and I had to upgrade the Trucks with MTH Premier Trucks, to make the Flat Cars totally road worthy.

Some of the older rolling stock, especially the Flat Cars with Tank Loads are not the quality Cars that the newer Menard's Cars happen to be, and they are definitely smaller.  If you have trouble talk to Mark the Menard's guy here on the OGR, Menard's is doing everything possible to make sure their customers are satisfied with their rolling stock.  Myself I will be purchasing more, especially of the military rolling stock, the new stuff for the money is great stuff.

Pine reek how did you change the trucks on the tank it's covered with stuff on top off holes. Did you pull the ammo and box off some how without breaking the model? Also I was very upset how my stuff arrived I had to glue stuff down because it came broke . I bought 2 items from menards and I think that will be it for me I see how the trucks are bad and quality is not what I expected.

Well I took menards trucks off the 2 flat military cars and put some replacement Mth trucks on. Now these flat cars are nice I wish menards would of put nicer trucks on there stuff I would buy more if they did. I think I will stick with mth and Lionel stuff for now .

They did.

The long flatcars with wood decks have diecast trucks with working springs, T-bar couplers, and rotating bearing caps.

It's the first-generation small flatcars that you have. (I was able to make those behave themselves without changing the trucks)
