Wednesday says "hello!"
It's time once again for another batch of Midweek Photos. Here are some of my photos taken since last week.
Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton was back in business this past weekend. Three different types of trips were offered. Lackawanna F3 no 664 is seen here on the Scranton Limited. It is unusual that the diesel is facing west on this train, but a minor power failure put the turntable out of commission for a time on Saturday, Oct 19. This was the way she was facing the rest of the day.
Backing up to the Roundhouse area. This served as entertainment until the next train, the excursion to Moscow, PA came into the platform.
Nickel Plate Road GP9 no 514 pulls into the platform with 7 cars ready to head up the Pocono grade to Moscow, about 13 miles southeast.
On Sunday, October 20, we see the same train returning to Scranton from Tobyhanna, PA.
One of the cars on the train is Office car 353, which was built for the presidents of the Lehigh Valley Railroad.
Still a few blocks from the final arrival point, but the train passes the Lackawanna Railroad station in Scranton heading to the Steamtown boarding area.
Time for your contributions. Many of the photos the past few weeks have been very interesting and giving us all a fuller view of the great range of railroading this world has to offer. Keep them coming. See you soon.
