Back to the beat... Welcome once again to Midweek Photos, where we can share some of our railroad world with those who might not have a chance to encounter them. I am a bit late in starting the thread, but I want to thank everyone who made last week such a success. Thanks to Diesel Dan for starting the ball rolling, and the 22 responses. Now, onto this week.
I went to Quakertown, PA today with a friend so we could catch all the rail action... LOL No action as usual. We seem to be train-repellants rather than magnets. Ah well. Some pretty cool images of the former Reading station. Some before the rain began, and some after.
Trackside looks much nicer than the view from the road.
Sort of looks like the railroad turned its back on you, right?
Very ornate ironwork on the bowed windows. The station is restored, but serves no passenger trains. Freight does run through from time to time.
East Penn Railway mostly uses this U-boat for deliveries.
A nicely restored boxcar from the Raritan River Railroad sits next to the freight station.
Unique herald, which shows a Pennsylvania RR influence.
Not operating, but still looking pretty nice is this former Washington Terminal RS1 number 57.
Now I turn the thread over to you. Keep those action shots and other pics coming! See you next week.
