Midweek Photos 8/15/2012

Out riding my bike and was able to catch this BNSF Westbound thru Naperville, IL with my camera phone. He was using the South track must have been some work going on along the line.

Well, Tim likes to photo old trains with a new camera.  I've been photo'ing new trains with an old camera!  I guess either way, it works.  First shot was made with my 1951 Rolleiflex shooting ISO 400 Portra film.  Train is a s/b on the BNSF Marshall Sub in Sioux Center, IA.  Second shot was taken about 40 minutes north, near Manley, MN using same camera & flash set up.  Final photo was taken with the Rolleiflex and HP5 of a DME hopper near Cavour, SD.  There had been a derailment of a bunch of hopper cars full of wheat.  This hopper really got crunched.  OK, one more photo from the derailment scene.  I love to find derailments--it gives me a chance to take photos that are more abstract.

EMD SW-8 loco on display at the Space and Missile Museum at Cape Canaveral FLA. Supported 82 Titan launches from 1965-2005 and was used to transport the Titan rockets to the launch pad.

CSXT G051 having air problems.  Once the problem was fixed the cars were added to the track on the right for a total of 77 empties. 

With the conductor on the left, he gets assistance form the Selkirk Road Truck which came from Selkirk, Ny to inspect the 77 empties.

Finally got the problem fixed and doubling to the other cars

CN action in South West Michigan

Some special helpers rest in the Pittsburgh trainshed during the mid 80's.  Top is the former CNJ red baron sd40, and bottom is a former EL sd45-2.

Ok now that was what I was thinking...that looks great!  The angle gives it that super elevated look....and the smoke laying back just screams speed.....ahhh god bless Lima.  Thanks Andy you made my day.
