Military version of the Oshkosh Striker (ARFF) made by SWORD in 1/50 scale. The truck is the most amazingly detailed die cast vehicle I have ever seen. Flat car is a Lionel PS-4 repainted in non-prototypical US Army green using a Tamiya rattle can. Decals from Dave were applied. He made a custom run for me of six different numbers using his US Army set. Two applications of Dullcoat was sprayed. Wood deck has each board individually stained with three different colors using weathering pens and then treated with three different colors of Bragdon powders. Trucks and wheels and couplers were painted rail tie brown and then treated with Bragdon powders for a prototypical color and texture. Grab irons and stirrups and other hardware painted flat black acrylic. Wheel chocks were made from 1/4" triangular balsa and cut in my chopper. The balsa was stained rail brown. I took my time with this car and I am very pleased. It is, by far, the most dramatic military load I have done. The awesome photographer forgot to make sure all the wheels were on the track. How embarrassing !!!
