I had a mishap almost a month ago regarding my S-3 seems as a lazy hobbyist didn't want to wire in micro switches so track power dead when bridge is in up position!!

yes I started the S-3 forgetting to lower the bridge and she went nose first to the floor about a 4' drop was herky jerky and cab light didn't know which cab flashing error to show.

called in for an RA# and shipped to Lionel repair and today thought will call and see where in the que my engine is well to my surprise they were about to call me and get payment and so it will be shipping to me on Monday am sure will not see it until maybe week of New Years.

will let you know outcome of repairs when I get the tech's notes on what was in need of replacing.

I was so grateful that the boiler didn't need replaced as they cost $260.

now for those that have this engine how in the heck does the boiler come off from frame? I removed the necessary screws and could lift boiler off of frame but no way was it going to allow me to slide it forward to release walkway from under cab soI could remove boiler am guessing the pilot was knocked in as the 2 molex connectors were right up against the inner pilot area.

thanks in advance for any information on removing the boiler.
