Yeah, I agree. You could, of course, just locate the board where convenient and run an extension of the power wires between the board and transducer as needed. However, the button on the board is not particularly user-friendly in location, so bypassing it as you've done seems like a good solution! The best I could come up with is using a translucent glue stick to 'poke' the button on the board mounted below it, and incidentally conduct the light from the blue LED on the board to the surface, as shown beginning about 45 seconds into this video:

Can you tape the button down and hook it up to a timer?

Probably the best solution is to simply disable that button and switch the power supply.

Don, IMHO thats too much effort for this project. I used a cheap rf single channel remote  to control the mister on/off function. The whole project less than $10.
