I ran my MTH UP F3 ABA, 20-2484-1, from 2004 last night and I was immediately reminded of the great value and buying options that MTH has brought to the market. Back on the track after eight years, it looks and sounds incredible. The space between the lead A unit and the B unit was 1/16 inch and the B unit and trailing A unit was.....centimeters. This set can still hold its’ own against any comparable set today. Unfortunately, I”m going to have to baby it a lot more. So Yea, I’m missing Mike Wolf and MTH already.

Maybe millimeters? More than one centimeter would be approaching an inch. (2.54 centimeters = 1 inch)
But I get it, good solid performing engines that worked well after storage with no issue.

Me too! I just cannot believe there are no investors wanting to it over, and keep existing staff. They have brought so much to the hobby.

Maybe “investors” are not seeing a good investment.

Agreed. I think if one takes off the rose-colored glasses, a very different picture emerges. Anyone considering purchasing MTH would do well to conduct a forensic audit and take a good hard look at the real tangible assets of the company, if any.

Absolutely, the MTH building is gone, DCS apparently out of the equation, manufacturing dies in China, and some “affiliation” with a factory in S. Korea. Just doesn’t sound like there is much tangible investment property. The MTH “name” has some value but only for toy train interests.

I hope somebody steps up and buys it. MTH got me back in the hobby with quality products and reasonable prices. We can't afford to lose MTH.
This will leave a big void in the hobby. Against my better judgement I ordered a Reading T1 and a NKP RS2 diesel. Both were in my price range.
