Thank you Peter for the update photographs!!  The Alex built station looks great, but what else did I expect from Alex!!

Thats a lot of work to get everything transported and set up!  Have some great shows!

We started unloading at the Science Museum of Virginia.....no longer will we been the Rotunda.....I new building was built behind the passenger platforms.

Now, pictures of the new building where all the train layouts will go....

Now I am looking at the area which is the Redskins summer camp practice field.

We are now set up for the annual Science Museum of Virginia Train show...which is Nov 24-26. For those who don't know, the Science Museum of Virginia is the former Broad St Station of the RF&P railroad.

I'm going to try to be organized and go around the layout. We have 32 linear feet of new (12) or redone(20) modules since last year. Here's goes:

We have the small modular layout setup as well. It's all decked out for Christmas!! Look for BIG changes to our little layout in 2018!!!. This layout has been more popular than we ever could have imagined.

Worthy of a separate post, our very own Walt custom painted and lettered these for the club. I wish there were more. I'd love to have one for my own collection!! They started life as MTH Premier cars...

Peter- you guys do some incredible work. One of the best looking layouts, modular or  permanent, around.

The display looks fantastic!   Yinz do a great service in promoting the hobby.   It takes much time,  effort,  and co-operation to put on a show like yours for the general public.

Peter, I'm really enjoying the photos posted here.  Makes me wish that I would have gone with Virginia Power's offer instead of Duke Power's back in 78.  Albeit have extended family in Grayson/Carroll county (Galax) and further north Austinville and Max Meadows.

I love the Broad Street Station.  I remember going to a couple of train shows back in the '80s.  The modules are great!  Yinz do a great job (yes I do talk like my local friend, Machinist, in his comment). 

As I said before, I wish I knew you back when I worked for Vepco/Virginia Power in the '70s and '80s!!

Mark, VEPCO (North Anna & Surry) was one of our/my customers. So was Duke and most every other "nuke".  From mid 72's to mid 78's worked for a division of ITT Grinnell as QA Supervisor.

To make it a smaller world our Bechtel quality rep lived in Mars.

Also, I spent time at both North Anna and Surry.  North Anna was under construction when I traveled there as part of the telecommunications department

The Bechtel rep first name was Lou can't recall last name.  Before Bechtel he worked for Mine Safety.  And since the Pullman Kellogg quality rep name was Lou I keep thinking of his last name.  This Lou also owned a 426-Hemi funny car.

Well Mine Safety has a huge presence very near Mars.  A good friend of mine is a research chemical engineer there.

Christmas train run!

Peter, The Christmas train looks great!  I am glad to see the Nativity again this year riding along!!  I trust there are no low overpasses on the Modular layout!

Great pictures, Peter and Gilly. It's amazing the such a beautiful layout is portable. Keep up the great work you guys are doing. Have a great holiday season and most importantly, have fun.

Coordinating new construction is crucial. Overhead clearance is ample all the way around.
