Chris,
How did you find out photos were allowed?
Beware of the men in black!! Didn't know photos were allowed but thanks for the sneak look.
Chris:
Thank you for the pictures. I haven't been able to attend since the April 2008 meet. Your images are bringing me a little closer to the action.
Bob
Awesome. Thanks Chris.
Thanks for the photos. I am want to save these for the fellas back here in Missouri. I hope that is OK with everyone.
Before I read the post I figured the Eastern Division already had you tied up in a trunk never to be heard from again!! Thanks for the Photo's Chris.
Sure doesn't look like the old days when it was elbow to elbow!
Looks like train heaven would love to make it one day.

Change is a wonderful thing.....
Wonder what people will complain about now ??

Up on "The D & H Bridge Line"
Posting pictures demonstrating the breadth and scope of the show would be the most powerful attendee-recruiting tool imaginable.
I'm relatively new to the hobby, so I'm sure the "no pictures" topic has been beaten to death over the years--but as a veteran of many comic/toy/collectible shows, I've never seen such a practice.
Thanks for posting these--and giving me my first look at York!

...and to add insult to injury TCA jacks up the dues to $50.00. I want someone here to present the spring attendance numbers and prove me wrong. I maintain that there is a direct correlation between exorbitant TCA dues and those that attend this meet. When I suggest opening the meet to the public to increase attendance; the argument that I hear is that anyone can attend; just join, pay the dues at the door and the admission. That's $63.00 just to get in the door.
On a positive note the ED has always done a fantastic job putting this great meet together. Phone, photos-great moves. They should be applauded and thanked for these changes and for all the years of giving us the finest meet in the world.. If they want to do better and grow, they need to recognize that the TCA affiliation is what's holding them back and as the attendance steadily falls, they will.
Wow. That is a lot of trains.
Thanks for posting the photos. I haven't been to York and it is unlikely that I will get there in the near future. I will get there someday.
I am a TCA member and I enjoy my local Nor-Cal division's activities and the Quarterly. I think that the friendships that I have made through being a TCA member are worth $50 per year.
Hopefully we will start seeing more photos of the meet.
Joe
Thanks for the photos Chris, One year I'll make it out there.

I believe that the more pictures you all post will make members here on the forum want to go more.
In fact, maybe some folks that have not been will get excited about these photos and will make plans to come in October.
While it is supposed to be the Mecca of train gatherings, I don't see myself attending simply due to logistics. It's far enough I would require a motel room and at least 3 or 4 tanks of fuel.
I can buy a new engine with that much money !
I'll continue to go to the Amhearst / Big E show where I can do it in one day and do it on 1 tank of fuel. And I might buy an engine there tho I have not done so yet.

Who is the gentleman seated in the walker? Since this will probably be me at the fall York I'd love to talk with him about using the walker there. Thanks.
Wow, these are great please post more photos for those of us who could not attend.
Thanks!
Thanks for the photos. I've never been to York. It sure looks like a blast.
Thanks for all the photos guys. I only wish that I could have been there to share the enjoyment.

I may be fooled by the sunglasses, but I think that may be Paul Edgar.
Former TCA President and always York attendee. Hopefully he sees your question and can help you with any questions you may have.

Yes, that is Paul Edgar.

That is Paul Edgar, Past President of the TCA
Mmm, good dog!
Here are some more photos from our new digs at Ruby Tuesdays. I met a lot of my old friends and made some new friends at Tuesdays. Seems like my 2006 Mustang GT was a big hit too!
