I am upgrading a conventional loco to lionchief plus. The matching motor includes the use of chokes (0.3 ohm) are they necessary and if so, can purchase these thru a third party?
what frequency and source are you trying to eliminate, are you trying to choke RFI that the motor is producing , you can wind them yourself if you know the impedance.
So i need them. Can I purchase them other than paying a 10.00 shipping fee from lionel? LS
Well, if you have a LC locomotive and an impedance meter, you can measure the impedance and then just order the correct inductors from an electronic distributor. I don't happen to have an LC locomotive handy or I'd measure it.
