Hi All,

I'm not sure which forum to post this in so I figured this would be a good bet. I have a MTH 1694 tinplate traditions PS2 engine that has started to act up. It's running erratically, changing speeds and the horn is going off when it feels like it. I cleaned the wheels, track and rollers with no luck. I tried it on a different track, no luck. So today I tried something else. I put the train on the track and turned the power up, I noticed if I pushed down on the engine I can see some sparks from the rollers then the train starts to move. I then took the train off the track, connected a lead to one of the trucks and another to the roller and the train operates fine. I'm thinking my center rollers are not making good contact. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks,

Sam

I haven't taken the engine apart yet but the fiber board that holds the rollers is riveted on so not much to tighten there.

That's what I was thinking, I will give it a try tonight and hopefully I'll be up and running again.

Thanks!!!
