MTH 24 WATT POWER SUPPLY ?

In MTH` S-Gauge, and HO Gauge, I believe, it mentions a Z-DC24 '24 WATT POWER SUPPLY #50-240; is this similar to the Wall Power Packs that LIONEL is now using in sets.?... Is MTH going to be using these in their S and HO Gauge Sets.?.....Thanks..
