Just got an MTH charger for proto 2.0...my question is,what is the second plug used for?thanks.....Joe

One is for the 5-volt board & the other is for the 3-volt board.

Correct, Cpowell. The round plug is the 5 volt connector. The square, molex plug is for the 3v connector.

MTH used two types of control boards in their PS-2 locomotives. The 5 volt systems are a bit older and were replaced by more reliable 3 volt boards in latter years...
