Just acquired a beautiful MTH Santa Fe Express set up for 2-rail. I am stumped as to how install Kadee couplesr. It has the spring loaded end sill. There does not appear to be anyplace for the Kadee coupler to screw down. The only thing I can figure is to make an extension of the truck and mount the coupler box on the extension. Does anyone have a photo how they did it?

Your decription sounds like the R50B express reefer (a PRR prototype.) I just checked one of mine and they came with adapter plates for Kadee couplers. From looking at the adapters, they would mount to the bottom of the car with 2mmx8mm screws, then the Kadee would mount to the adapter plate using another pair of the same sized screws.

You're welcome. MTH includes the coupler pads in all of its more recent (since 2006/2007 as I recall) Premier rolling stock. Now all they need to do is make it easier to remove the couplers from the 3-rail trucks.
