I'm curious how hard they are convert to Kadee couplers. Mike Wolf told me at York there was no room, thats why they didn't make them compatible. Everything is compatible.... it's just a matter of doing it.

The catalog stated the 44 tonners would have Kadee mounting pads. Against my better judgement, I ordered one despite it not having the usual "Premier" 3/2 rail option. These manufacturers (both MTH and Lionel) want pre-orders for unseen merchandise, yet they seem to feel no obligation to produce items that are actually as described in their catalogs. So far, four out of five of the locos I have pre-ordered in the past few years from both Lionel and MTH have arrived lacking features that were advertised in their catalogs. I can't say five out of five only because the last loco still has yet to arrive (it is three years overdue). Safe to say I will not be placing any more pre-orders for items sight unseen.

I hope to see a real production sample at York, I didn't want to buy this one sight unseen.

John - I have one on pre-order from Hennings.  I won't be running it right away as it's a Christmas gift to myself for the missus to put under the tree.

That being said, you are welcome to open mine up and put it through it's paces before I take it home.

I have been looking forward to seeing one of these little buggers produced--with command control capability--for a long time. The first releases from MTH do not not include any of my favorite roadnames, but I have one on order with Dave that will be a candidate for a repaint. Looks like a trip over to Mercer Junction will be on the schedule soon after I return from York.

Also anxious to see Dave's review. I have a whole lot of trust in his observations and recommendations.
