I originally purchased a couple MTH GP38-2's with Proto-Sound 2 for the BNSF in their Heritage 3 scheme. Below are a couple videos showing the results of the conversion to DCC using a Digitrax DH465 and an NCE 408SR.

Sorry for the poor quality videos.
Geez oh man, watching those videos is pure torture...spend some money and buy a tripod...or warn us to view them on an empty stomach...and minimize the talking...let's see the choo-choo run before I toss my supper.
Yeah, already working on that. Hopefully you found some value in the video besides using it to help toss your diner?
Mike,
The videos don't play well at all...at least on my pc...slow and choppy. Sorry.
You are certainly more confident in your electrical skills than myself...I would need buffers or stops on the end of those tracks...with my luck, I would send them to the floor!
Nice work. Any 2-rail setup I do is going to be wired as if it was DC with polarity switching so I can run my Proto-2 and let the layout manage the polarity.
reposted the videos above using Youtube. Much better quality.
Nice job. Do you have plans for putting sound in them? I am planning to wait to see how easy it is to drop in PS3 before gutting my couple of PS2 units.
I also just got a Sony ActionCam that is comparable to the GoPro, but it appears lighting is key for crisp video. I'll play with it more as time goes along. Amazon should have a cheap tripod. I think I got a $13 one on there…fragile, but treat it nicely and it will last.
PS3 please thanks.
Mike,
Any progress on the Surroundtraxx test?

Thanks, Mike. You're my sound/DCC hero and I will prize your assessment of the Surroundtraxx system.
I have been quite impressed with the sound and motor control on the Loksound decoders Bowser put in their newly released HO C430s.
I have an Atlas C425 that might be a good candidate for the Loksound decoder (after I wire the motors in series). The C430 horn is really quite good (it was actually kind of stunning) and the engine sounds are excellent also.

Mike, nice work I stumbled across this topic. Your electrical skills are to be commended . Certainly its no easy task to convert and install a dcc decoder in my opinion.
