According to MTH this tower is shipping in the next couple of weeks. I never heard of this and it isn't listed online. Is MTH offering the switch tower that stands at the Strasburg rr station?

It is listed on the website but no picture? I do know one thing; I want one!
Perhaps a special issue for Strasburg RR only - maybe a limited edition? Very interesting!
This tower will be in the 2012 RTR catalog for all to see.
It will be available from any authorized MTH dealer in good standing
including the Train Loft

It's a generic tower that MTH has given various names to, including Strasburg.

I don't think it is a model of J tower. That was either a Pennsy RR or Reading RR item if I am correct.

Judging from the pictures I've seen of this switch tower, this is, in fact the J Tower that was originally positioned near the bottleneck in Lemoyne PA. There appears to be a sign near the staircase in Pennsy colors with the letter J.
Pennsyfan38, the O.p. was asking about the model mth tower not the 1:1 at Strasbourg RR itself. The mth tower is the same one listed as the prr Pittsburgh tower and painted in other road names.
I have the MTH one on my layout. I like it and it looks reasonably good. If you are looking for something closer in appearance to the Strasburg J tower Weaver ( now defunct) made a beautiful brass one (might have been called the Roy Tower? I can't remember). I have that one as well and it is a real beauty. You might find one online somewhere as it has been a few years since they came out. BigRail
There was a kit for the j tower- much closer than the Weaver brass model. It's by model tech studios prr switch tower.
Ok, thank you for the info! I was confused because I saw 2 different versions from MTH on ebay. I am including the pictures here. Let me know. Trying as best I can to replicate buildings, bridges etc. on my layout.
