MTH NASA Modern Tankcars???

I have two MTH Premier #20-96020 tankcars. The car numbers are #190 and #191. The cars are marked "Freon" and have "green" Class 2 DOT Placards for non-flammable gas. (Not actual prototype cars but are colorful.)

The MTH Product Locator webpage for this model shows an entirely different decorated car and car number (NASA 003). The photo shows a car with "Hydraulic Fluid" markings. See attached photo from the MTH website.

MTH 20-96020 from their website (This version never produced as shown?). I checked the 2000 volume 2 catalog and this version was shown but not actually produced?

There have been a bunch of tank cars over the years(Prem and RK). The 190/191 were the first Premier ones, I believe.

I do not have my boxes handy to check the number you reference, but I agree with you that MTH probably has a picture crossed on their site.

Here’s a 1991 photo of the version with the “worm” logo plus a photo of Lionel’s standard O model of it made for the 1992 LCCA Convention.
