I have the station that has the disappearing people in it. They go up into the ceiling. It works sometimes and not others. It will sit and do nothing for switch after switch and then take off and work perfect for 3 or 4 times and then nothing again. Sometimes there is a slight buzz and the people try to go up or down but just can't and then later it will take off just fine. This is brand new right out of the box and I have checked the wiring several times using the little box MTH supplies. Can anyone help me please?

By the way, the light stays on constantly so its not that it is loosing electricity when it doesn't work, it just sits there.

Thanks for replying. I have it on variable voltage and have tried it at everything from 10-20 volts and it behaves the same. Any ideas?
Sorry, I can't help. But wanted to comment on the voltage. I own the same station and, while I can't say that I know the exact voltage, I am SURE that it's considerably less that 18V. I would say (guess ) that's it's more in the 12-14V range.
I have not encountered the issue that you describe. I'm guessing you studied the movement carefully and are not seeing any snags anywhere.

Have you checked for any sticking or binding, lubrication of the mechanism.?

I think I remember seeing in the instructions a way to adjust the passengers movement. I cant seem to find mine right now but if you have yours it might be worth a look.
Thanks guys. I read my instructions again and found a note that describes that the people can get stuck in between up and down. If they do, it will overheat the coil and a circuit breaker in the roof will kick it off. It says turn power off and wait 10 minutes and it should work again. This describes what is happening to mine. I still don't know why and I don't like the idea of turning it off for 10 minutes and trying again. That is not my idea of a good accessory. Wish I had not bought this thing.
Bob S. reminded me that I had to make that adjustment to get mine to work properly. Don't recall what it is or why one does it, but I know that I had to.
