I am thinking about purchasing an ABA set of MTH RK F-3's. I read the features on MTH website along with the users manual. On the box it doesn't state that there is a smoke unit in the lead A unit but the manual does. Does anyone own this set of locomotives and if so do they have a smoke unit? Any information would be appreciated.

Granted I don't own that exact set but it should and will have smoke. All of the RK ABA Powered units have smoke, no smoke in dummy units
Thank you the info is much appreciated. I will buy them and confirm here later.
Pennsy never had any tuscan read F3s (or F7s) if that matters to you. They did have 4 tuscan Red FP7s and maybe 2 matching B Units. The E Units were all painted tuscan eventually. Originally the E7s were DGLE (Dark Green Locomotive Enamel).

All PRR locomotives were painted in DGLE up until 1952. Here is my Tuscan FP7.
However, since it's your railroad, I hope you enjoy your RK F3s when they arrive!

I am not concerned about prototypical paint schemes, I just like the PRR Tuscan scheme. Did the ever have Sharks?
Baldwin BP 20's were done a few years ago by Weaver, one of their last projects.

Yes, PRR was a loyal Baldwin customer until the bitter end. 4 axled freight sharks (PRR Class BF-16) were purchased, but all came in the single thin yellow stripe green scheme. However, Williams and others have offered these in Tuscan Red with 5 stripes. My guess is MTH and Lionel have offered them this way as well.
The passenger sharks (PRR Class BP-20) are 6 axled monsters and are unique to the PRR. They arrived in 5 stripe green and were repainted into Tuscan Red in the early 50's as well. They would likely be a bit large for your layout if you are running RK locomotives.
MTH also offered a heritage series recent times. ?? SD80Mac ??
E8 is Weaver
A great looking bunch of locomotives, totally awesome thanks so much for sharing.
