MTH SD 50 PS2 upgraded to BCR2 now dead ?

Did you pinch any wiring installing the BCR?

Since this is a 3V PS/2 board set, I suggest contacting @GGG and see if he can revive it for you for a lot less than a new set of boards.

No pinched wires, battery is in belly pod so easy swap. Thanks

I was just going to BCR a couple of the same locos so please let us know what you find out.

Are you sure you didn't pinch a speaker wire or the battery/BCR wire leads when re-installing the fuel tank?

If this happened to me, just to be sure, I would check for a short somewhere and any other cause before spending more on the engine.  I have installed BCRs in over twenty-five PS2 engines, both voltage types, with no problems at all. Please do let us know the outcome, for it may be helpful should others have the same problem.

I really think the BCR install and failure were coincidental but it is on its way to GGG so we will wait and see...

To close loop, the BCR was in tank, and the speaker wire got pinched. under tank shorting board. G
