I see from the description of the Southern PS4 set does NOT indicate a quillable whistle, yet the other single engine PS4's show quillable whistle in their description.  Question is did MTH leave out the quillable whistle on the PS4 passenger set or are the other engines the only ones having the quillable whistle?  I would like to know before I purchase the passenger set as I want the quillable feature. Any suggestions or thoughts on this?

Thanks!

David (Chow)

I picked up my Queen&Crescent Engine last night at Legacy Station. We took them off

the the pallet and opened them up. I don't know enough to be a rivet counter but I

love the look of this engine. We put it on the test track and it runs great. The whistle

is deep, full and rich and sounds fantastic to me. I have not made up my mind about

the quillable whistle. I can't say that it's a perfect copy of the real thing, but I am very

very happy with my engine. I was also impressed with the four passenger cars that come

in the sets.

Charles,

Does the Queen & Crescent Limited Engine look any different than the Crescent Limited engine pictures on MTH's website? Or is the tender just say Queens & Crescent Limited vs Crescent Limited?  Do you have any pictures that you can post?  I was also wondering what the quillable whistle sounds like too.

I did not look at the two engines side by side so the only difference that I noticed

was the Queen & Crescent instead of Crescent. As far as the quillable whistle, I

thought it worked well but it was a higher pitch than the deep full rich tone of

the normal whistle. I hope this helps. I have already boxed them up because i'm

between houses at the moment.

I have 2003 premier Southern Crescent Limited engine with Protosounds 2 and it looks the exactly same as the new Crescent Limited engine.  So, if I were to purchase the Queens & Crescent Limited engine, I was hoping there might be some differences between the 2 new engines.  However, the whistle on my 2003 sounds completely different than the new engine.  The whistle on the new engine sounds very similar to my premier Southern Kanawha.  The quillable whistle on my Kanawha has a higher pitch too...sounds like a separate type of whistle than the normal whistle.  So, I wonder if MTH used the same whistle as on my Kanawha.

If anyone else has purchased the Queens & Crescent Limited engine and can post some pictures, I would be interested in seeing them.
