yes when you turn on the remote it will tell you on power up the latest version software 6.1. when you use the remote set remote to tiu and look for version in the remote when you hit the button the tiu will respond back and say tiu version 6.1 or what ever version is in it! very easy to tell !

Alan thank you and one more question. How many locomotives can I have running on one TIU? For example on my layout I used to have three locomotives one running and two sitting idle. But it seemed to cause problems with the tiu. The tiu seemed to get confused.
