I'm repeating this post here hoping to get some definitive info. I'm also interested to see the response. I'm in the market for a Railking trolley with Proto 2. I have the original LTC trolley but I'm looking to upgrade and hopefully with a 3V board. So here is the question: I see they were made in 2001, 2005 and 2009. Do any of these have 5V boards?

These have the 3V battery PS2 boards: 30-5106-1, 30-5107-1, 30-5108-1, 30-5109-1 (2009 catalog)
and 30-2566, 30-2567-1, 30-2568-1, 30-2569-1 2005 catalog
Search mthtrains.com for "Trolley w/Proto-Sound 2.0", chose Rail-King in left column, and the above trolleys will come up at the top of the list. The instructions manuals show the 3V batteries.
Thanks Susan. I didn't think about going to the instruction manuals. I'm pretty regular on the DCS forum and know those experts. I was curious who would be showing up on this forum. Anyway, thanks for the info. Do you happen to know if I can switch my 30-2569-1 shell with one of the newer units with proto 2?
GHD,
I have a P2 Pittsburgh, Pa Street Car, with Frank doing the stop announcement, great Street Car because it can be set to automatically stop and do the street announcements, where the P1 can not, further it has the old 9 Volt type battery, that I replaced with a BCR. The Street Car works perfectly, glad MTH made it. I am not sure just what year my street car was made in. Further I am not sure if the shells can be switches, I know the P1 can not be upgraded to a P2 however, because the P1 works on a different engineering principle.
