Is there any train related things to see while visiting Nashville? Thanks.

PRR MARK:
One thing you must see is the old Nashville Union Station at the west end of town. It was built in 1900 and served many railroads in its time. The structure is huge and it is beautiful! It is now a hotel. The last time I was there (15-16 years ago) I remember seeing lots of tracks running by underneath. Check it out on line!

I recommend the Tennessee Central Railway Museum, 220 Willow St, Nashville, TN 37210. They have some passenger cars and engines and a large HO layout. If you go to Centennial Park you can see the big steam engien they are beginning to restore.
If you're coming this weekend, the local TCA chapter is having their spring meet:

You can go visit the spot of one of the deadliest train wrecks in U.S. history:

If you're here on a weekday you can ride the Music City Star out and back:
You can check out the CSX Radnor Yard. (You can see a lot of it from the Sidco Drive area and the Harding Place bridge that goes over it)
Our annual Spring TCA Meet will be held this Saturday, April 14 starting at 9 AM in the Nashville suburb of Donelson at the Donelson Baptist Church gym at the rear of the church. The church is located on Lebanon Road just up the street from the McGavock Pike intersection, and less than a mile from the Briley Parkway Exit at Lebanon Road. Hope to see you there if you are in town!
Phillip's Toy Mart has a train dept which features mostly Lionel and some MTH. The store is located on Harding Road in the Belle Meade section of Nashville. The phone number is 615-352-5363. Besides trains, they have some unique toys. My daughter is employed there as a receiving clerk. The store is a second generation "mom and pop", and is a Nashville tradition!
Nashville has transformed in recent years from a sleepy small town into a progressive large city with a plethora of fine restaurants and entertainment venues. I have lived in Nashville since 1970 and my spouse was born and raised here. We have lived in the historic Germantown district since 2002 and love being close to shops and restaurants!
Mark: Hope you have a pleasant stay in Nashville, better known as Music City, USA! An earlier nickname was Athens of the South, and we have a full-scale replica of the Athenian Parthenon, complete with a 14' gilded statue of Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. This replica is located in beautiful Centennial Park on West End Avenue, not far from downtown! If possible, be sure not to miss it!
Do a "SEARCH" using only the word "Nashville". lots of interesting comments.

Thanks much for your replies and ideas. Tinplate art, Durchmans curve, unfortunately I will not be there until the 18th so I'll miss the TCA show. Looking forward to a great trip in a city I always hear good things about.
